Fish Haul Creek Park

Fish Haul Creek Park is located on the sound rather than the ocean, but there is a sandy shore that makes this Hilton Head hotspot considerably more private than the other beaches. There are no lifeguards on duty at this beach, which lends to the comfortable, uncrowdedness of the park. If you plan on swimming, make sure to check the tide report and local weather before heading out. If you just want to relax and escape the inland heat, the park offers alternate activities that you won't find in ordinary public beach areas.

The thirty-one acres of Fish Haul Creek Park is home to local vegetation as well as wildlife, much of which can be seen from the park's observation deck, which overlooks the nearby marshes. The park boasts several trails connecting this prime location to the neighboring Port Royal Sound. The park also offers the convenience of restrooms and a pavilion with picnic tables. A public parking lot is also available, accessed from Beach City Road.
