Hilton Head Island - How to Find Us |

Located along the southeastern coast of South Carolina, Hilton Head Island is just a stone's throw away. The Island is just 35 minutes from Savannah, 45 minutes from Beaufort, and 1.5 hours from Charleston. To make your trip easy, there are numerous ways to get to Hilton Head Island.

Although Hilton Head Island has a nice calm beach, accidents will still happen. The most common injuries occur from encountering sea life such as sting rays or beached jelly fish. Should an incident happen, you can contact the "Beach Patrol" for assistance.

Hilton Head Island is located along the southeastern coast of South Carolina. We are located just 35 miles from Savannah, Georgia. There are numerous ways to get to Hilton Head Island. You can drive, you can fly commercial or in your own plane, you can come by rail, by bus, or even on your private yacht via the Inter-Coastal Waterway.

If you are driving from the North, you'll be on I-95 heading South. If you are driving from the South, you'll be on I-95 heading North. Get off I-95 at Exit 8 (Hardeeville) and take Route 278 East straight to the Island. Along the way you'll pass by Sun City Hilton Head and the Town of Bluffton until you travel over the bridges onto Hilton Head Island. It is about 30 minutes from the I-95 turnoff to the bridge onto the Island.

If you are planning to fly to Hilton Head Island, you can either fly straight to the Island or you can fly to the Savannah -Hilton Head Airport. It is exactly 1 hour driving time from Savannah-Hilton Head Airport to the center of the Island. You would follow the driving directions listed above as you will be on I-95 heading North when you leave the Savannah-Hilton Head Airport. You can get a rental car, taxi, or limo at the Airport.

If you take a commercial flight to the Hilton Head Island Airport, you can connect at Charlotte with USAIR Express, ( numerous flights daily ). There is currently no other Airline service to the Island. You can get a rental car, taxi, or limo at the Airport.

There is Amtrak and commercial Bus service serving Savannah.
|
|
|
If you have a boat, you can get to Hilton Head Island either from the Ocean or the Inter-Coastal Waterway. We have numerous Marina's for your boating convenience.

Another approach is to arrive at Charleston, SC. Charleston is 112 miles away and it is a 2 plus hour drive down Route 17 South & I-95 to the Island.

From Interstate 95, take South Carolina Exit 8 onto Highway 278 heading east towards Hilton Head Island. Follow the signs. From I-95 proceed on Hwy 278 East for approximately 25 minutes to reach the only bridge onto the Island (you will pass by several outlet malls and golf courses). Once you reach the Island, stay on Highway 278 Business (right lane). Do not take the Toll Bridge (left lane). Continue approximately 10 miles on Highway 278 to the Sea Pines Traffic Circle. Follow traffic circle around to the third exit, Pope Avenue. Once on Pope Avenue, proceed through two traffic lights. Hilton Head Guest Services Is located on the left side of the road. You will need to U-Turn at the first available opening in the median. The Check-In Center is located at 71 Pope Avenue (Suite B) between Pedals Bike Rentals and Evelyn’s Deli.
